2025 Practice Updates/Newsletter

2024 was wonderful year - thank you! Over the holidays, my entire family enjoyed a week together - including my husband and self, our 10 children, son in law and grandchildren. It was the first time my grandson from TX and granddaughter from PA had the opportunity to play together. It was so much fun to have all of the young children with overlapping generations together for a week.

I am including a family photo for you to see my “why” - I became a midwife after having a few of my own babies at home with midwives and seeing the need for more midwives. My family has doubled in size as my practice has grown over the years. I have a passion for helping families to have healthy pregnancies and peaceful birth experiences while also assisting families to find health beyond the pregnancy and to live fulfilling lives.

While I feel passionate about this work and my calling as a midwife, I also believe that serving my family is my main mission here during my time on earth. As such, I want to publicly renew my need for downtime and family time and ask my clients to please read this newsletter for our practice updates including contact guidelines between appointments and for labor/emergencies.

We live in a time and era where there is a lot of texting, chatting, and internet searching to seek information and learn from the opinions and the experiences of others. A major element of autonomous, family-based homebirth is increasing self reliance and intuition. My encouragement to you this year is search your own heart, come to know yourself better, and become confident in your ability to be a mother and parent. Turn off the internet; unplug; have hard conversations with yourself and spend time with those that matter most.

Let’s all help each other make 2025 a happy and healthy year as well.
